Born in Montreal, Canada, Fred bought his first motorcycle, a Honda CT70 minibike, with paper route money. He promptly stole his Mother's hair dryer hose and his Father's plastic funnel to make a ram air duct. After frying the piston on a overly lean mixture, he quickly learned all about carburetion & engine rebuilding. After working as a mechanic for several years he became service manager for various area shops building up service departments and training other technicians to OEM specs.
Fred moved to Victoria, British Columbia, in 1986 where he lives on a float home with wife Hilary & cat Baxter. The family stable includes an ST1100 and a Seca 650 (with 750 engine). Fred's favorite saying: "What is the purpose of THIS exercise?"
